Output Filters

Output filters intercept and process the finished output of a template script, then return the processed output. For more information on applying filters, see the "Getting Started" page on using output filters.

Savant2 comes with two output filters:

  • colorizeCode? applies highlight_string() to all text between <php>...</php> tags in the template output.
  • trimwhitespace removes blank space between tags to compress the template output.

Smarty? Reinventing the wheel :)

Savant's power is in its simplicity in use. No special tags and other
sh*t.I have found only one thing better: Ruby on rails, in case of php I
prefer PEAR packages and Savant. It fits great together!
